Bucephalandra ‘Pygmy’ is one of the smallest known cultivars within the Bucephalandra genus, highly prized for its ultra-compact size, fine leaf structure, and delicate aesthetic. Native to Borneo’s fast-flowing streams, this rheophytic plant is perfectly suited for nano aquariums or as a foreground epiphyte in larger tanks. The leaves are typically 1–1.5 cm in length, oval to slightly oblong, with a dark green to bluish tint and often display metallic iridescence under proper lighting. Due to its extremely small size, it offers intricate textural contrast and is best attached to driftwood, rocks, or small stones, ensuring the rhizome remains above substrate to avoid rot.
