Garra Rufa, known as doctor fish or red garra, are small cyprinids native to fast-flowing rivers in Western Asia, famous for nibbling dead skin in spas but excellent algae eaters in aquariums. These peaceful bottom-dwellers thrive in groups, scraping biofilm from rocks and decor while adding lively activity to planted tanks. They grow to 12-14 cm and live 3-8 years with proper care.
