Microcarpaea minima Merrill is a fine-leaved, low-growing aquatic or semi-aquatic plant that naturally thrives in moist habitats such as riverbanks, rice paddies, and wetlands across tropical and subtropical regions of Asia. Its small, paired leaves grow along thin, creeping stems, creating a subtle and natural carpet effect in planted aquariums. With a moderate growth rate, it gradually forms a soft green mat when provided with suitable conditions.In aquascaping, Microcarpaea minima is well-suited to the foreground, where it can create a natural, grassy appearance. It also adapts well to paludariums or shallow tanks, where it can be grown partially emersed.
